Women Empowerment Cell


The Women Empowerment Cell at Loyola College of Arts and Science (Co-Ed), Mettala founded under the motto “Inspired Action, Empowered Lives” is dedicated to strengthening and uplifting female students and women faculty. Its mission is to build awareness about their rights and responsibilities while actively addressing real-world concerns related to their well-being and access to opportunities. It is established in accordance with the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015. The Cell is committed to create a safe, inclusive, and gender-just environment on campus. It strives to empower women employees and students by addressing issues of gender discrimination, ensuring protection against sexual harassment, and promoting equal opportunities.

To foster a campus culture where women feel safe, respected, and empowered to achieve their fullest potential in academics, research, and professional pursuits.

Mission

To ensure zero tolerance towards sexual harassment, discrimination, and gender-based violence.

To provide a confidential and impartial Redressal mechanism for complaints.

To organize awareness programmes, workshops, and training sessions on gender sensitization, legal rights, and self-empowerment.

To nurture leadership qualities, self-confidence, and social responsibility among women students and staff.
